The best strategy: Do Not Buy From Amazon! Not until something has happened about this travesty. The UK has Play.com and of course Waterstones and Blackwells, the US has Barnes and Noble.
The most disgusting and shocking point of it all, I find at the moment, is that if you put “homosexuality” into a general search on Amazon, the FIRST THREE HITS ARE ANTI GAY! I am livid. If they want to implement some sort of search function for explicit material, they should pay some excellent software developers and not monkeys, who come up with a disgusting brush of “anything having to do with homosexuality is adult material”. The words fail me this is so appalling. Or, indeed, do I detect an even more sinister business decision here? If doing a search on Amazon, the paperback version of a book does not show up, but the Kindle version does, which is, who would have thought … owned by Amazon, thus increasing their profit. Surely, this is not a coincidence …
